Tour of the Estate

This photo was taken early in the 20th century.  The fountain is where the circle is now.  The cactus garden and the road in the lower left corner are still there.

Another view of the mansion in it's early days.

The date listed for these pictures was 1930's, but judging from the car in the first one, I suspect it wasn't until at least the late 1950's to early 1960's when these were taken. The swing set was still there in the 1970's when the nieghborhood kids would play on the property. It had been moved to the front of the house by that time.

This is the mansion as it was around 2000.

Cross this bridge to go to the pool and lake

Several people have said that the area out by the pool is haunted. Just something about the way it was overgrown probably.

Go up these steps to see the Lake.

This is a view of the lake before it filled up.

The date on this photo says 1917.

Lakewood Lake is mostly surrounded by private homes. Access to the lake is available only to those who have lake membership. The only place that the lake can be viewed by the public is on Lakewood Road just before you get to the circle with the bus shelter. At Christmas time, you will be able to see a tree sitting on the dock in the middle of the lake.
